We sometimes hear that equipment is the end all and be all of photography. I Do not think that this is completely accurate. I have never had the best of the best in the equipment that I use, but I will say I make the best use out of the equipment that I do have.

You have to marry yourself to the equipment that is available for you to use. The combination of photographer and equipment is the way to take great photos. I truly believe that the better the skill level of the photographer, the better the photographs.

The photographer who is technically sound and not the greatest equipment will in my estimate always turn out better work than the photographer with no technique and all of the latest and greatest equipment.

Being a technically sound photographer and knowing the equipment that you do have is more important than having all the best equipment. Whether you are a photography enthusiast or you are the consummate professional, you must work within your financial constraints.

If you go out and purchase all of this expensive equipment that is above your financial level and technical ability you are not going to be happy with your results. You are not happy and you have spent way more money than you needed to at this point in your photographic journey.

This is just a little something to think about when you start investing in your equipment and in yourself.
