When I talk about expanding your arsenal, I am speaking about the skills that you possess and tools that you have at your disposal to add value to what you do as a photographer and or videographer. In today's marketplace you have to use a variety of tools to get your message out, not only your mind and equipment, you have to add various forms of social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and many others), I am blogging about this because I am going through this phase at this very moment in time.
We all want our content to be seen by as large of an audience as possible, so that means we have to use not just one way of reaching that audience. In today's world to succeed you have to put out various types of content seemingly almost 24 hours a day. In years gone by, being a published photographer(Artist) carried a lot of weight. Today it carries weight, but you have to use other means at your disposal.
Personally using the other platforms has not been really hard, for me it is just increasing the frequency in which I post. I have added video to my arsenal, along with other platforms that I can use to post content. I have added a YouTube channel so that I am basically forcing myself to do video. For a guy who has been strictly a photographer this is a big step for me.
What I am trying to say is use all of the resources at your disposal to take your content to the next level. Do not let yourself fall by the wayside because you are not increasing your professional arsenal.
